Ever wonder how the yarn in your gorgeous alpaca sweater or plushy alpaca socks gets off the animal? Well, wonder no more. Here is a mini-demonstration of how to shear an alpaca – focusing on the tricky head area. This lucky lady gets a new hair-do!
Sirius Alpacas raises high-quality Peruvian alpacas for their fleece, which is spun into boutique yarns, and hand made into environment-sustainable products (felted dryer balls, bird-nesting materials and more.)
JR Weber, owner of Sirius Alpacas, is a professional alpaca shearer who travels around northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania to visit farms and shear their alpacas. He usually spends about 30 minutes per animal and includes a toe trim as well.
Here is a short video that shows an Alpaca Shearing Demonstration.

We really enjoyed visiting your farm. It is so clean. You greeted us and we felt very welcomed. The manure we received will help my Dad enjoy his garden in the Spring. Thanks!!!
