What gives?
When I walk into a room where Shady lies waiting for anything to come her way, I have to be sure I’m not carrying anything of value that could break. I can’t wear white if she’s been playing outside in grass and dirt. And, unless I’m prepared to share, I most definitely cannot be holding anything edible.
When I walk through the door at the end of the work day, Shady’s overwhelming joy at my presence is at least a five-minute affair of slurpy, jumpy exuberance. Her tail wags nonstop. She whines. I’ve never been so loved.
But, when JR pulls out a camera, she walks to where he wants to shoot her, and either sits or lies down. She looks at the camera and with her amber eyes, tells him to have at it. Maybe I need to start carrying a camera around with me and take photographs of her throughout the day.
I think she’s expecting some alpaca sweaters to come her way this winter in exchange for all her modeling.
Today, she’ll have to settle for these brilliant jewel-tone Mosaic Tile Open Weave Scarves.
Sirius Alpacas is a family farm in Chardon, Ohio that raises and boards alpacas for fun, therapy and profit. The farm uses its fleeces in the production of high-quality yarns and felted goods.
