Cute, colorful and a hit with the kids, Sirius Alpacas' 3-tassel Harlequin hat is ed by Shady, the Sirius Weimaraner.
Sirius Alpacas is getting ready to go to the dogs! In addition to manning our
kiosk at the Great Lakes Mall, we’ll also be a vendor at the Cleveland IX Center at the
Crown Classic Dog show, Thursday, Dec. 15 – Sunday, Dec. 18. Look for our booth to find comfy alpaca socks, alpaca hats and alpaca gloves to keep you warm while you walk your dog in the winter. Plus, we’ll have other cool jewelry and accessories from South America. Stop by and say hello!
We participated in the Crown Classic Dog Show last year before we even had a dog, and had so much fun talking with breeders and owners, that we decided to get a Weimaraner. No, we don’t show her, but Shady has moved into our hearts and home. She’s nuts; she’s a Weim. The days nice furniture are over. And, we all get a lot more outdoor exercise because of her need to run. But along with the spunk comes lots of great stories as well as several awesome photo oppos.
Here, Shady, Sirius Alpacas’ farm dog, models Maya’s 3-tassel Harlequin hat. Made out of 100-percent alpaca fiber in Peru, it’s a hit with kids – and dogs!

Sirius Alpacas is a family farm in Chardon, Ohio that raises and boards alpacas for fun, therapy and profit. The farm uses its fleeces in the production of high-quality yarns and felted goods. Sirius Alpacas also imports fair-trade Andean items including socks, scarves, hats, gloves and more from Peru and Bolivia, offering the style and culture of South American goods while helping the farmers, artists and craftsmen of that region.

How do you get a Weim to wear a hat – let alone sit still long enough for a picture? Aren’t they crazy?????
Ha! Yes – they are pretty high strung. But, maybe Shady is just used to living with a set of 11-year-old twin girls. They are always putting her under blankets and wrapping her up and petting her and putting hats on her. But – for her to put up with it, she’s got to have been out running and playing. She needs to move!
