When you absolutely need the softest, most heartwarming keepsake, unique gift or plush toy on the planet, reach for an alpaca teddy bear. Nothing else compares when it comes to silky indulgence and over-the-top cute. Why? Because Sirius Alpacas looks for the highest quality teddy bears and plush toys made from 100% baby alpaca fleeces. Cria (that’s “baby”) alpaca fiber is likened to silky cashmere for its exquisite texture that caresses the skin in softness. Once you pick one up, you won’t want to put it down.
Sirius Alpacas’ teddy bears are imported from Peru (Fair Trade) and are handmade made by seasoned fiber artists who use the finest alpaca fleece. Offering both huacaya (wah – KAI – uh) and suri varieties in a range of colors, these alpaca teddy bears look so sweet, they practically beg to be cuddled.
Why you want an alpaca teddy bear:
- Unique gift or keepsake (not available at local malls, Wal-Mart or other big-box stores)
- Natural fibers
- Exquisite softness and fluff
- Fair trade (support the economic and environmental sustainability of our South American neighbors)
- High-quality, durable – can last a lifetime with proper care
- Alpaca is hypoallergenic
- Good value at $46 for a large bear (approximately 15 inches tall)
- Extremely cute!
They may be a little pricier than bears found at a mall or in a big-box store, but Sirius Alpacas’ teddy bears are not mass produced. Their fiber and stuffing are of natural fleeces that have been called “fiber of the gods.” There’s a reason an alpaca teddy bear is treasured for years and years and is never outgrown. Handmade quality, extra-soft fluffy fiber and a design that features little pot bellies and cute eyes make these alpaca teddy bears irresistible.
The two varieties:
Suri alpaca teddy bears have fiber that cascades off their bodies. The fleece hangs in bundled locks and has a silky texture.
Huacaya alpaca teddy bears have the “poofy” full-bodied look. Their fleece extends from the skin and has a crimpy wave.
Should your bear become soiled, we recommend spot cleaning with a mild detergent and cold water. Gently rub the fleece in the same direction until clean, changing the water as necessary. Do not change the direction in which you rub or vary the temperature of the water to prevent the fibers from felting. Air dry. Dry cleaning is also an option.
