Alpaca Socks: Sirius Ski Socks are great for extreme cold

Alpaca Ski Socks

Great for protection against extreme cold or simply for indoor lounging comfort, Sirius Alpacas’ Ski Socks keep feet and legs warm. Shown here in gray.

Socks are perhaps the most lowly of all our apparel. They cover up our feet and get shoved into shoes where they sit in the dark all day, waiting to emerge to hopefully be invited to slide across a slick wood floor.

Luckily, there are alpaca socks to make every step of your daily journey in the cold of winter more comfortable. And, when you need to treat your feet to the ultimate in warmth and comfort, look for a pair of Sirius Alpacas Ski Socks. These socks are extremely plush and springy, and contain 43% supersoft alpaca fleece.

Alpaca Ski Socks

If you love the spray of the Alpine slopes, if you are a snow-shoe adventurer or if you walk dogs in the winter — or even if you are just a freeze baby and like to have warm tootsies, our Ski Socks will keep you feet and calves covered in the warmest fiber available.

These Ski Socks extend the entire length of the calf to not allow any snowy spray to enter your boots. And, they are extremely lightweight not to bog you down.

Sirius Alpaca Socks are wool socks that do NOT need to be hand washed

Sirius Alpacas understands that no matter how awesome your socks are, they are definitely not worthy of being hand washed, which is why we sell only machine-washable socks. And, go ahead and toss them in the dryer. They’ll be fine. We promise. (We mistakenly bought a pair of 100% alpaca socks many years back, not realizing that they required dry cleaning. When they came out of the washer, they had shrunk at least 5 sizes. We donated them to our neighbor’s toddler, who loved them. Now, for a sock to pass the Sirius Alapcas’ test, it has to be washer / dryer safe. We all have better things to do than hand launder socks.)

Alpaca Wool Properties

Alpaca wool is moisture-wicking to keep your feet dry. Similar to cashmere, the highest quality alpaca fiber, baby alpaca, can be worn against the skin and has a silky smoothness. Because alpacas do not secrete lanolin as sheep do, most people can wear alpaca without allergic reactions.
